Psychotherapist
Jeannie Cha, MSW, QMHP-T, Supervisee in Clinical Social Work
My therapeutic approach prioritizes trauma-informed practice and empowering the individual through their strengths. I create a nonjudgmental space for dialogue that is facilitated with empathy and active listening. I am passionate about getting to know the client and collaborating on ways to complete their goals by utilizing treatment modalities that will work for the individual. I integrate evidence-based techniques including Solution-Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy.
I have experience working with adolescents and adults in residential and correctional facilities, intensive in-home therapy, mental health skill-building, and hospitalization. I have a background in nutrition (Inova Fair Oaks Hospital), medical social work (Trauma Services, Inova Fairfax), and adult education (PWC Adult Detention Center). I specialize in traumatic injury, vicarious and complex trauma, addiction, incarceration, depression, anxiety, and eating disorders.
Jeannie is pursuing the Certified Eating Disorder Specialist credential with our team of therapists who specialize in disordered eating.
